Faces: Highly personal tirade in regards to numerous infidelities is one of the few Cassel films to make it with basic civic. The Prestige: The setting is the early 1900’s in London. Magicians are of high status in the entertainment industry. Robert Angler and Alfred Borden, once partners on stage, are now in an intense battle to be the best magician in London. They will go to any means to outdo the other.
Necessary Roughness: The Texas State Armadillos football team has just been sanctioned by the NCAA, and has no scholarships. So they have to put the team together from the student body. With a true rag-tag team, they will try and beat the odds when they play number 1 ranked Texas.
The Great Lover: Vintage Wish; Bob’s a boy-scout leader on transport filled with his troop, luscious Fleming, and killer Youthful. Cast includes Bob Wish, Rhonda Fleming, Roland Youthful, Roland Culver, George Reeves, and Jim Backus. (80 minutes, 1949)
From Nashville with Music: Some excellent country and western music, although one would be better served to purchase one of the actors’ albums rather than agonizing through this tale of a New York couple who go to the Grand Ole Opry by accident. Cast includes Marilyn Maxwell, Leo G. Carroll, Pedro Gonzalez, Marty Robbins, Merle Haggard, and Buck Owens. (87 minutes, 1969)
Man in The Attic: flavorful account of infamous Jack the Ripper, with Pa1ance going full-blare. Redo of The Lodger. Cast includes Jack Palance, Constance Smith, Byron Palmer, Frances Bavier, Rhys Williams, Sean McClory, Isabel Jewell, and Leslie Bradley. (82 minutes, 1954)
Buck Privates Go home: One of the most entertaining romps has boys returning to civilian life and trying to smuggle a youthful European orphan into this nation. Climactic pursue a highlight. Cast includes Bud Abbott, Lou Costello, Tom Brown, Joan Fulton Shawlee, Nat Pendleton, and Beverly Simmons, Don Beddoe. (77 minutes, 1947)
Starsky And Hutch: Starsky and Hutch are detectives in the Bay City police department. These two are undercover cops back in the 70’s. Somehow these two total opposites combine to make a great detective team.
